Mother | Baby Dyad
Water-soluble Graphite on Watercolor Paper
This painting is about those early days of motherhood when your womb is still swollen and your belly is soft.
How safe that must feel for your baby who still calls you home.
One of my paintings from this year. I have been exploring the mother-baby dyad- the way that mother and baby are inexplicably linked even after the umbilical cord has been child. This painting shows the way that mother and baby mesh and melt into each other as though the baby is still in the womb.
